About Softball -
The 2002 North American Indigenous Games competition consists of male and female, bantam, midget, juvenile, junior and senior categories.

An entire game for the NAIG softball tournament shall consist of seven (7) innings for a maximum time of ninety (90) minutes.

The seven (7) run rule will be in effect anytime after the completion of 5 (or 4 1/2) innings of play. The umpire will award the game to the team with a lead of seven (7) or more runs any time after the trailing team has had five (5) turns at bat.

In the case of a tie game during the round robin play and/or play offs, the International tie breaking rule shall be followed: Starting at the top of the eighth (8) inning and each half inning thereafter, the offensive team shall begin its turn at bat with the player who is scheduled to bat last in that respective half-inning being placed on second base. The player who is running can be substituted in accordance with the substitution rules.
